The Salinas Monterey Highway, also known as State Route Highway 68, is a highway that connects Salinas to the inner parts of Monterey and Pacific Grove on the Monterey Peninsula. The Monterey Salinas Highway 68 is 20+ miles long and is home to over 16,000 residents. Known to the locals as the "Sun Belt", The highway 68 stretch of road is host to more sunny days throughout the year and warmer temperatures compared to the coastline communities. It travels through both the unincorporated areas of Monterey and Salinas along its stretch. This area showcases a host of wonderful communities including some premier gated (and some golf) communities as well as rural ranches and homes.
